IFSAC Fire Fighter I & II Testing

WVPST offers IFSAC (International Fire Service Accreditation Congress) Testing to provide West Virginia Firefighters with National Certification.  IFSAC Testing provides a uniform means for judging and ranking personnel which is fair and equitable; to serve as a guideline for acceptable levels of performance; and to be equally applicable to both paid and volunteer firefighters.

The written testing for Fire Fighter I is on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 6:00 pm and the practical skills evaluations are on Saturday, April 27 beginning at 8:00 am at United Technical Center, Clarksburg, WV.  The written examination for Fire Fighter II is on Sunday April 28 at 8:00 am followed by practicals.

Testing is based on NFPA 1001 2013 Standard for Level 1 Fire Fighter.

Prerequisites include Firefighter I & II, Hazardous Materials Awareness, and Hazardous Materials Operations.  Copies of certificates validating prerequisite training are required.

Successful completion of the examination earns the candidate IFSAC certification in Fire Fighter I & II, Hazardous Materials Awareness, and Hazardous Materials Operations

The examination is composed of written tests including Fire Fighter I, (100 questions); Hazardous Materials Awareness (25 questions); Hazardous Materials Operations (50 questions), Fire Fighter II (50 questions) and practical skills demonstrations.

Those wishing to take the examination can request skills sheets to study.

Pre-registration is required.  Applications will be accepted on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis and must be received by April 15, 2019.

The fee is $25.00 per certification (total for all 4 certifications is $100.00, which is non-refundable)
