The tuition fee, first NREMT testing fee and book will be covered for this class. There is no cost to the student (WV Residents only) for tuition, first NREMT testing or book. Student will be responsible for WV State Certification fees.
The course also requires a clinical component to be completed outside of class hours during which you will ride along with an EMS agency to complete 10 patient assessments. These assessments must be completed in order to obtain WV certification as an EMT. You will receive more information on the clinical component during the class.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of EMTs exam, with the initial exam attempt, as mentioned above, being included within the course tuition. This test will be scheduled at your convenience at a Pearson Vue testing center. If seeking certification in a state other than WV, you will not need to complete the WV certification process/fees, and will simply need to pass practical testing and NREMT examination before proceeding with the certification process in your desired state.
If seeking certification in West Virginia at the conclusion of the course, the West Virginia Office of EMS requires a $75 fee for certification which is paid online, and a $45 fee for fingerprinting/criminal background check. You will receive directions on that process during the class.
Pre- registration for this class is required. Due to COVID 19 safety best practices, class size is limited to 12 students. Absence allowance is 10% of the total class hours = 15 hours. Make up of missed classes will be at the discretion of the course instructor.
