SUMMARY:EMT Initial - United Technical Center
DESCRIPTION:This 155-hour course is being conducted at United Technical Cen
 ter in Clarksburg\, WV (Harrison County) beginning Friday\, August 28\, 20
 20 at 5:00pm.  The class will meet in the portable classroom located next
  to the burn training tower.  Class dates are as follows: August 28\, 31\
 ; September 4\, 10\, 12\, 13\, 15\, 16\, 19\, 22\, 24\, 27\, 30\; October 
 3\, 4\, 6\, 9\, 10\, 24\, 25\, 27\, 28\; and November 5\, 6\, 8.  Weeknig
 ht classes will be 5pm - 10pm\, and Saturday clases will be 9am - 5pm.  T
 he course instructor is Jimmy Glasscock.\n\nThe tuition fee\, first NREMT 
 testing fee and book will be covered for this class.  There is no cost to
  the student (WV Residents only) for tuition\,  first NREMT testing or bo
 ok.  Student will be responsible for WV State Certification fees.\n\nThe 
 course also requires a clinical component to be completed outside of class
  hours during which you will ride along with an EMS agency to complete 10 
 patient assessments. These assessments must be completed in order to obtai
 n WV certification as an EMT.  You will receive more information on the c
 linical component during the class.\n\nUpon successful completion of the c
 ourse\, you will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of EMTs exam
 \, with the initial exam attempt\, as mentioned above\, being included wit
 hin the course tuition.  This test will be scheduled at your convenience 
 at a Pearson Vue testing center.  If seeking certification in a state oth
 er than WV\, you will not need to complete the WV certification process/fe
 es\, and will simply need to pass practical testing and NREMT examination 
 before proceeding with the certification process in your desired state.\n\
 nIf seeking certification in West Virginia at the conclusion of the course
 \, the West Virginia Office of EMS requires a $75 fee for certification wh
 ich is paid online\, and a $45 fee for fingerprinting/criminal background 
 check. You will receive directions on that process during the class.\n\nPr
 e- registration for this class is required. Due to COVID 19 safety best pr
 actices\, class size is limited to 12 students.  Absence allowance is 10%
  of the total class hours = 15 hours. Make up of missed classes will be at
  the discretion of the course instructor.\n\nInterested persons should reg
