Wildland Firefighter (16 hours) (Pre-& Post work required for full certification)
An introductory course designed to train entry-level firefighters. Participants will gain knowledge of the basic incident management organization, firefighting techniques, suppression equipment, safety, strategy/tactics, and fire behavior. Weather permitting, field exercises will be held for valuable hands-on-training. This course encompasses both field and classroom units. This course will allow the participant to take the “Pack Test” at a later date to and receive their “Red Card”. This course requires you to complete the FREE S-190 course online before attending the classroom portion. Visit https://onlinetraining.nwcg.gov/node/169 for access to the course. Certificates must be shown to the instructor at the beginning of class.
Prerequisite: ICS 100 & S-190
