Wood County Fire School is pleased to announce a Through the Lock course.

Description: Forcible entry is an essential skill in the fire service. Firefighters should be able to size up and effective force the door to gain access.

This class is designed to teach the basic principles and steps of forcible entry conventionally and through the lock.

Conventional forcible entry.

Inward and outward swinging doors along with secondary security measure will be the time to understand the variety of uses for your irons and NY roof hook. Secondary locks will be a time to utilize your k12 and hand tools to cut or force locks and chains.

Through the lock.

Students will learn less destructive ways to safely enter secured structures that minimize cost for the resident for business by defeating different locking mechanisms commonly found on residential and commercial structures.

Please note: There have been questions about if the class is only open to Wood County individuals. This class IS open to anyone.

Location: Wood County Training Center (2309 Camden Ave., Parkersburg, WV 26101)

Equipment Needed: Turn Out Gear

Instructors: Ritchie Gobble, Corey Carr, Cody Carr, and Jamie Dzierzak

Cost: $20/person
