In recognition and support of Stop the Bleed day in the U.S., a Stop the Bleed (Bleeding Control Basics) course that is open to the public will be held on Thursday May 23, 2019 starting at 3pm at the Buckhannon Public Safety complex classroom in Buckhannon, WV (Upshur). Stop the Bleed is designed to teach the lay public the critical steps in controlling life threatening bleeding, including direct pressure, wound packing, and use of tourniquets. This class is a joint endeavor between WV Public Service Training, St. Joseph’s Hospital Trauma Program, and the Buckhannon Fire Department. In order to prepare course materials, we are encouraging pre-registration for the class by using the link below. Walk in registrations the day of the class will be accepted as well though.
