This 20 hour rope rescue technician course (NFPA 1006, 2021 Ed.) is being conducted at Belington VFD, Belington, West Virginia (Barbour County).  Class meets May 7 & 20,  2023 from 8am — 6pm each day.  Jimmy Glasscock is the lead instructor.  In order to take this course, students must provide proof of certification in Rope Rescue Operations or Ropes Level 1 or Ropes Rescue Low/High Angle.  All students must come to class both days with attire and PPE appropriate for rope rescue tasks (long pants, boots, helmet, eye protection, gloves).  Structural firefighting PPE is not recommended for this course.  PPE, and any gear (ie, harness, hardware, etc.), is subject to inspection and approval by the course instructor prior to being utilized in course activities.

TUITION is $45 per student.  The textbook, “Rope Rescue Principles and Practice 5th Ed.” can be purchased from the instructor at a cost of $80 each. Fees may be paid with cash, money order, or company/department checks made payable to “Mountain State Educational Service Cooperative”  or “ MSESC”.  Course fees, or a signed authorization to invoice a department/organization form (will be emailed to all that register), are due at the first class session.
