RESCUE CORE PREREQUISITES WITH ROPE RESCUE LEVEL 1

 This 40 hour Rescue Core Prerequisites with Rope Level 1 course includes coverage of the awareness level requirements found in the 2013 Edition of NFPA 1670, Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents, as well as of the general job performance requirements found in Chapter 5 of the 2013 Edition of NFPA 1006, Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications. This course presents in-depth coverage of structural collapse, confined space and trench rescue, vehicle rescue, and water and wilderness rescue, allowing rescue organizations to approach any rescue situation safely and confidently.  This course will prepare you for further training in the more specialized and advanced skills necessary in various technical rescue disciplines, and is required prior to taking another of the other technical rescue courses.  Students successfully completing this course will also obtain Rope Level 1 certification NFPA 1006, 2013 edition.

This course is being conducted at Granville Fire Department, Granville, West Virginia (Monongalia County). Class dates are September 8, 12, 17, 22, 24, 26, and 29, 2019. Class times are 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm weekdays and 8:00 am – 6:00 pm weekends. John Lemley is the instructor.

TUITION is $45 per student. The textbook, “Rescue Core Prerequisites” will be loaned to the student for a $10 fee, but it may be purchased at a cost of $70 each.
