Principles of Modern Fire Attack: SLICE-RS
New Creek Vol. Fire Dept. in Mineral County will be hosting a SLICERs class for their monthly drill on Wednesday May 9th, 2018 at 6:30pm. Chief Dustin Amtower will be teaching it. This training is open to all who wish to attend. This training presents an updated operational acronym, SLICERS: Size up all scenes; Locate the fire; Identify & control the flow path (if possible); Cool the heated space from a safe location; Extinguish the fire; Rescue and Salvage. This training will provide a firsthand look at the UL/NIST Modern Fire Behavior/Dynamics studies and serve to educate students how they can be delivered and instituted in their fire departments. This training was developed by the International Society of Fire Service Instructors. Preregistration is not required. There is no cost.
