Rope Rescue Awareness and Operations

A combined rope rescue awareness and operations class (24 hours) will be held at Star City VFD (Monongalia County) on July 8, 11, and 18, 2026. Class will meet 6-10pm on 7/8 and 9am – 7pm on July 11 & 18. Chuck Curtis is the lead instructor. Participants should come to class each day with long pants, boots, gloves, helmet, and eye protection. Students must attend all class sessions in order to successfully complete the class.
Course tuition is $120. The course textbook, Rope Rescue Techniques: Principles and Practice 5th Edition, is not required at the awareness/operations level, however, if participants wish to purchase it, they may do so at the first class session for a cost of $80.
