The WV Emergency Management Division has partnered with WVPST to offer a Hazardous Materials Awareness Courses at WVPST Dunbar. The class will be from 0800-1200 on September 9th leading into Hazardous Materials Operations from 1300-1800 on September 9th and continuing 0800-1800 on September 10, 16, and 17, 2023.

HMA Description: The 4-hour Hazardous Materials Awareness class meets NFPA 470, 2022 edition. This class includes a complete review of the DOT Emergency Response Guidebook. The ERG is the only text for this class. IFSAC Testing is available.

HMO Description: The 34-hour Hazardous Materials Awareness/Operations class meets NFPA 470, 2022 edition including product control and PPE. Participants learn defensive operations and decontamination techniques. The text is Jones and Bartlett “Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations” 4th Edition and the Emergency Response Guidebook. The class may also use the Firefighter textbook. IFSAC Testing is available.
