The tuition fee of $400, made payable to MSESC by cash, check, or money order, is due at the first class session, or payment may be made online via credit card at: https://mountainstateesc.com/services-and-resources/public-service-training/north-central-pst-payment/.  Course tuition includes NREMT testing voucher, along with ID badge for clinicals.  The textbook (AAOS, Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured, 11th ed. ISBN is 9781284080179) will be available for purchase at the first class session for $110 (must be paid in order to take a book) or you can purchase/borrow one on your own. If you borrow/purchase your own, make sure to get the most current edition.

The course also requires a clinical component to be completed outside of class hours during which you will ride along with an EMS agency to complete 10 patient assessments. These assessments must be completed prior to being approved to take the NREMT exam once the course is completed. You will receive more information on the clinical component during the class.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of EMTs exam, with the initial exam attempt, as mentioned above, being included within the course tuition.  This test will be scheduled at your convenience at a Pearson Vue testing center.  If seeking certification in a state other than WV, you will not need to complete the WV certification process/fees, and will simply need to pass practical testing and NREMT examination before proceeding with the certification process in your desired state.

If seeking certification in West Virginia at the conclusion of the course, the West Virginia Office of EMS requires a $75 fee for certification which is paid online, and a $45 fee for fingerprinting/criminal background check. You will receive directions on that process during the class.

Pre- registration for this class is required. Class is limited to 25 students.  Absence allowance is 10% of the total class hours = 15 hours. Make up of missed classes will be at the discretion of the course instructor.
