EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONDER

This 72-hour course will be conducted at Kingwood VFD, Kingwood, West Virginia (Preston County). Class dates and times will be as follows:

November 13: 6:30-10pm

November 14: 8am – 5pm

November 15: 8am – 5pm

November 20: 6:30-10pm

November 21: 8am – 5pm

November 22: 8am – 5pm

December 4: 6:30-10pm

December 5: 8am – 5pm

December 12: 8am – 5pm

December 13: 8am – 3:30pm

Courtney Chaney is the lead instructor.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible for the NREMT (National Registry of EMT’s) EMR examination (computer based and scheduled by student at a Pearson Vue testing center).  Successful completion of the NREMT EMR exam is the only route to WV Certification as an EMR.  Students are only allowed to miss 10% of total course hours before being ineligible to successfully complete the class and test NREMT.

Course tuition is $400, which includes tuition, textbook, pocket mask, CPR certification, and access to the EMS testing program.  Fees may be paid with cash, or check or money order made payable to MSESC.  Payment is due at the first class session.  If a department is paying, you must contact the WVPST office to request an authorization to invoice form to be completed by a department official.

Costs associated with NREMT testing, and WVOEMS certification and background check are not included within the class and are the responsibility of the student.

American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR is taught as a required portion of this course. For that reason we must publish the following:
