EMS Academy Spring 2026

WV Public Service Training is excited to announce a Pilot EMS Academy. This involves three locations hosting a hybrid EMT class working together with consistent schedule of online homework and meeting one day a week at one of the respective locations to review weekly assignments and work on practical skills. YOU MUST ATTEND ONE OF THE THREE ORIENTATIONS TO PARTICIPATE!

Where:
Roane County EMS (200 E. Main St., Spencer, WV 25276)
WVPST – Charleston (501 22nd St., Dunbar, WV 25064)
Wood County Training Center (2311 Camden Ave., Parkersburg, WV 26101)

When: March 9, 2026 – July 29, 2026

Planned Meeting Dates:
Dunbar – Mondays starting March 9, 2026
Spencer – Tuesdays starting March 10, 2026
Parkersburg – Wednesdays starting March 11, 2026

Time: 6:00pm – 10:00pm

Orientation is required in person.
Dunbar – March 9, 2026
Spencer – March 10, 2026
Parkersburg – March 11, 2026

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of EMT’s exam, with the initial exam attempt, as mentioned above, being included within the course tuition. This test will be scheduled at your convenience at a Pearson Vue testing center. If seeking certification in a state other than WV, you will not need to complete the WV certification process/fees, and will simply need to pass practical testing and NREMT examination before proceeding with the certification process in your desired state.

Absence allowance is 10% of the total class hours = 16 hours (4 classes). Make up of missed classes will be at the discretion of the course instructor.

Fee: $770 to include tuition and book
