Water Rescue Level 1
A 24-hour Swift Water and Surface Water Rescue Level 1 class will be hosted by Baker Heights VFD on September 5, 8 & 9, 2018. The class meets Sat & Sun Sept. 8 & 9 starting at 8 am. Swim Test will be on Wednesday, Sept 5 at 7:00 pm at War Memorial Park in Martinsburg. Ed Sankbeil is the instructor. This class meets NFPA 1006 Chapters 11 and 12, 2013 Ed. Prerequisites: Rescue Core Prerequisites, NFPA 1006 Chapter 5 OR WVU-FSE Rescue Core Course OR Swift Water Operations, and Rope Rescue Level 1, NFPA 1006 Chapter 6 OR Rope Rescue Low Angle Operations. Participants must also pass a swim test. Participants must provide verification of prerequisite training. Participants must provide a swift water helmet and PFD. Wetsuit is optional. Course fee is $45. Book is $10 to rent or $30 to purchase.
NOTE: A Level 2 Class will be held September 22 & 23, 2018 at Baker Heights VFD
