This class was postponed. New dates are July 19 for swim test and July 21 & 22 for class.
A Swiftwater & Surface Water Rescue, Level 1 class will be hosted by Petersburg VFC on Saturday and Sunday April 21 and 22, 2018. The required swim test will be held at the Hardy County Wellness Center in Moorefield on Thursday, April 19 at 6:00 pm. This class meets NFPA 1006 Ch.11 & 12, 2013 ed.. Ed Sankbeil is the instructor. Prerequisites: Rescue Core Prerequisites, NFPA 1006 Chapter 5 OR WVU-FSE Rescue Core Course, and Rope Rescue Level 1, NFPA 1006 Chapter 6 OR Rope Rescue Low Angle Operations. Participants must also pass a swim test. Participants must provide verification of prerequisite training. Participants must provide a swift water helmet and PFD. Wetsuit is optional. Course fee is $45. Book is provided for use for $10 rental or can be purchased for$30.
