WVPST is pleased to announce a Water Rescue Awareness & Operations class.

When: May 17,18, and June 7 & 8, 2025

Time: 0800-1700 daily

Where: Hurricane Fire & Rescue (1 Rescue Way, Hurricane, WV 25526)

Instructor: Darin Virag

Cost: $75/person

Water Rescue Awareness Description: This 2-hour class meets the Awareness Level requirements of NFPA 1006 Chapters 16, 17, and 22. The textbook is “Water Rescue: Principles and Practice to NFPA 1006 and 1670: Surface, Swiftwater, Dive, Ice, Surf, and Flood”, Second Edition. The same textbook is used for Water Rescue Awareness, Operations, and Technician.

Water Rescue Operations Description: This 30-hour class meets the Operations Level requirements of NFPA 1006 Chapters 16, 17, and 22. The textbook is “Water Rescue: Principles and Practice to NFPA 1006 and 1670: Surface, Swiftwater, Dive, Ice, Surf, and Flood”, Second Edition. The same textbook is used for Water Rescue Awareness, Operations, and Technician. Prerequisites include: Must pass swim test and Water Rescue Awareness OR WVPST Rescue Core Prerequisites, AND Rope Rescue Level 1 OR Rope Rescue Operations
