WV Public Service Training is pleased to announce a Structural Collapse for Engine Company at Hurricane Fire & Rescue.
Description: This class is tailored for engine company personnel, equipping them with the critical skills and knowledge needed to effectively respond to incidents involving damaged or collapsed structures. Participants will learn to assess and identify collapse zones, understand the mechanics of building failures, and apply basic shoring techniques to stabilize compromised structural components. The course covers essential topics such as urban search and rescue operations and advanced building shoring strategies. Engine company personnel will also gain insight into the complexities of multi-agency coordination during these high-risk incidents. Through case studies, hands-on training, and practical exercises-including real world simulations. Participants will build proficiency in evaluating structural integrity, managing hazards, and executing effective rescue operations in structural collapse scenarios.
PPE Needed: Rescue PPE & an Air Pack
Tuition: $45/person
