Rescue Core Prerequisites with Rope 1
The 34-hour Rescue Core Prerequisites class meets the requirements of NFPA 1006 Ch.5, 2013 edition and includes awareness level information for all of the technical rescue disciplines. This class is a prerequisite for NFPA 1006 Technical Rescue Classes including Rope, Confined Space, Trench, Vehicle and Machinery, and Water Rescue. The class text is Jones & Bartlett “Rescue Core Prerequisites” (WV Custom Cover Fundamentals of Technical Rescue book with rope supplement). Class hours for any individual class may vary depending on class size, instructor to student ratio, and student proficiency. There are no prerequisites for this class.
Rope Rescue, Level 1
The 20-hour Rope Rescue Level 1 class meets NFPA 1006, Ch. 6, 2013 edition. The text is Jones & Bartlett “High-Angle Rope Rescue Techniques Levels 1 & II”.
Class begins on Saturday, Feb 16 at 9:00 am. All class meetings will be at Ronceverte FD with the exception of the last class (March 3rd) which will be held at Lewisburg Station 2. Instructor is Michael Tincher. Full class schedule below:
