FUNSAR/SARTECH II
West Virginia Emergency Management Division will be conducting Search and Rescue Training in Shepherdstown West Virginia in September and October.
Course Description: This will be a FUNSAR/SARTECH II class with 24 hours of on-line classes and 40 hours (two weekends of day/ night time field work). The classes will cover everything needed to take the SARTECH II test on the last day. Students should come prepared to spend two weekends in the woods and learn how to do Map and Compass, Area and Line Search Skill, Night Navigation, Fire and Shelter Building, Knots and Stokes Basket Evacuation, Tracking, Communications, Mock Search.
Location: National Conservation Training Center, 698 Conservation Way, Shepherdstown, WV 25443
Course Dates: Sept. – 1, 3, 8, 9, 22, Oct. 5 – ZOOM on line portion – TBD – 6 pm to 10 pm each day
Sept. 12, 13 – Saturday, Sunday – 8 am to 4 pm – w/night ops Sat. night
Oct. 10, 11 – Saturday, Sunday – 8 am to 4 pm – w/night ops Sat. night.
