The WV Public Service Training Charleston office will be offering an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course at their Dunbar classroom beginning Tuesday, August 14, 2018 and ending Tuesday, January 15, 2019. Classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 pm until 9:30 pm.
The Public Service Training Emergency Medical Technician program is a 155+ hour course which covers the basic information needed to function as an EMT level pre-hospital provider. The primary focus of the EMT is to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation for the critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. This course does not certify students as an EMT. Successful completion of the course will allow the student to be considered eligible to take the certifying exams. Additional fees will need to be paid to the appropriate agencies for background checks and test fees.
This course contains a clinical ride along component. Dates and times for the clinicals will be determined by the student, instructor and EMS agency.
You may mail payment or pay at the WV PST office in Dunbar. Payment must be check or money order made out to Mountain State ESC. Credit and debit cards are not accepted.
Students must be at least 16 years of age.
