Crisis Standards of Care (CSC) planning is intended to help the emergency response system—including emergency management, public health, behavioral health, emergency medical services (EMS), health care organizations and providers—provide patients with the best care possible given the circumstances. In catastrophic disasters involving an overwhelming demand for medical care, CSC planning is also intended to enable more effective use of the limited resources through fair, just, and equitable processes for making decisions about who should receive treatments when there are not enough resources to provide patients with the level of care they would usually receive.

The Special Preparedness and Response Collaborative (SPARC) is hosting a FREE full-day workshop to discuss the aspects and components of Crisis Standards of Care. This will be an informative session designed to help prepare for any large incident that overwhelms our healthcare system.

You are invited to the SPARC Workshop on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston, West Virginia. Lunch will be provided for all attendees. Please use the QR code on the attached information to register or click here by October 17th to reserve your spot.
