WV Public Service Training is pleased to partner with Valley Fire & Rescue to provide you Ohio Valley Training Weekends. Each month, Valley will host a different class to enhance training. Attached, you will find the planned 2022 schedule. Each month, the next month’s course will be advertised and registration opened.

April’s Training Will Be: Forcible Entry

Forcible entry is an essential skill in the fire service. Firefighters should be able to size up and effectively force the door to gain access.

This class is designed to teach the basic principles and steps of forcible entry conventionally and through the lock.

Conventional forcible entry:

Inward and outward swinging doors along with secondary security measure will be the time to understand the variety of uses for your irons and NY roof hook. Secondary locks will be a time to utilize your k12 and hand tools to cut or force locks and chains.

Through the lock:

Students will learn less destructive ways to safely enter secured structures that minimize cost for the resident for business by defeating different locking mechanisms commonly found on residential and commercial structures.

Equipment Needed: Turn out gear with SCBA/Mask

Tuition: $35/person

Location: Valley Fire & Rescue (28409 Huntington Rd., Apple Grove, WV 25502)

Date: April 9-10, 2022

Time: 0900-1700 daily
