WV Public Service Training will be conducting an Emergency Medical Responder course beginning February 24, 2024 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm at Valley Fire & Rescue (28409 Huntington Rd., Apple Grove, WV 25502).

When: February 24, 2024 – April 13, 2024

Planned Meeting Dates: 2/24, 2/25, 3/10, 3/23, 3/24, 4/6, 4/7, and 4/13

Time: 8:00 am to 8:00pm daily

This course emphasizes the skills needed to provide basic emergency care during the first phases of an emergency. The course is 72 hours of classroom and practical training in all aspects of initial response to a medical emergency. To receive certification by WVOEMS as a First Responder, participants must successfully complete practical skills evaluations, and pass the computer-based National Registry cognitive (knowledge) test. Recertification is required by National Registry every two years. This test will be scheduled at your convenience at a Pearson Vue testing center. If seeking certification in a state other than WV, you will not need to complete the WV certification process/fees, and will simply need to pass practical testing and NREMT examination before proceeding with the certification process in your desired state.

Absence allowance is 10% of the total class hours = 7.2 hours. Make up of missed classes will be at the discretion of the course instructor.

Fee: $365 to include tuition and textbook
