Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) – Initial
This course emphasizes the skills needed to provide basic emergency care during the first phases of an emergency. The course is 72 hours of classroom and practical training in all aspects of initial response to a medical emergency. To receive certification by WVOEMS as a First Responder participants must successfully complete practical skills evaluations, and pass the computer-based National Registry cognitive (knowledge) test. Recertification is required by National Registry every two years. There will be additional fees payable to NREMT and WVOEMS.
This is a blended format class. Students will complete classwork online, and will meet in person for skills days.

Cost: $380 (includes tution and textbook with online access)
Books (with online access codes) will not be issued until class cost ($380) is paid. This form must be filled out and turned in on the first day of class.
