A combined rope rescue awareness and operations class (24 hours) will be held at Reedsville Fire Department (Preston County) on June 10, 11, 17, & 18, 2023. Class will meet 9am – 5pm each day. Tom Klus is the lead instructor. Participants should come to class each day with long pants, boots, gloves, helmet, and eye protection. Students must attend all class sessions in order to successfully complete the class.
Course tuition is $70. The course textbook, Rope Rescue Techniques: Principles and Practice 5th Edition, is not required at the awareness/operations level, however, if participants wish to purchase it, they may do so for a cost of $80. Those wishing to purchase a book need to notify the WVPST office at the time of registration so books can be available at the first class.
