RESCUE CORE PREREQUISITES WITH ROPE RESCUE LEVEL 1
This 40 hour Rescue Core Prerequisites with Rope Level 1 course includes coverage of the awareness level requirements found in the 2013 Edition of NFPA 1670, Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents, as well as of the general job performance requirements found in Chapter 5 of the 2013 Edition of NFPA 1006, Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications. This course presents in-depth coverage of structural collapse, confined space and trench rescue, vehicle rescue, and water and wilderness rescue, allowing rescue organizations to approach any rescue situation safely and confidently. This course will prepare you for further training in the more specialized and advanced skills necessary in various technical rescue disciplines, and satisfies the awareness level training requirement needed prior to taking any of the other technical rescue courses. Students successfully completing this course will also obtain Rope Level 1 certification NFPA 1006, 2013 edition.
This course is being conducted at Leading Creek VFD, Montrose, West Virginia (Randolph County). Class dates are September 10, 11, 17, 19, 25, and 26, 2021. Class times are 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm weekdays and 8:00 am – 5:00 pm weekends. Jimmy Glasscock is the instructor.
