The West Virginia Fire Commission has created a Modular Firefighter Training Pilot Program to assist Volunteer Fire Departments in recruitment and retention efforts by enabling individuals to participate earlier on in their training. To participate in this pilot program departments must complete an application that is available on the WV State Fire Marshal’s website – firemarshal.wv.gov. For more information you can contact the WV State Fire Marshal’s office or any of the WVPST regional offices.
West Virginia Public Service Training will be offering a WV Fire Fighter 1, Module 1 course at West Hamlin Volunteer Fire Department beginning Sunday, July 26, 2020 at 8:00 am.
This 33 hour module covers subjects such as: History of the Fire Service, Fire Fighter Safety, PPE/SCBA, Fire Service Communications, ICS, First Aid, CPR & HazMat Awareness.

PREREQUISITES: REGISTRANTS MUST BE AT LEAST 16 YEARS OLD.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the COVID 19 guidelines that must be followed, class is limited to 15 people. If you plan to attend, please register at your earliest convenience. Further guidance will be provided before the class to those that are pre-registered.
