This 155-hour course is being conducted at Parsons VFD (Tucker County).  Class starts on Saturday September 8, 2018.  Class dates are: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday each week. Class meets from 6:00 pm–10:00 pm weekdays and 9:00 am – 4:00 pm on weekends. The course instructors are Lynda Gray and Tom Klus. Class will be held at the Parsons VFD.

At the conclusion of the course, students must successfully pass the practical skills evaluations and may schedule to test the West Virginia State EMT initial certification exam and/or the NREMT (National Registry of EMT’s) examination (computer based, scheduled by student).

This course includes a clinical rotation that will be scheduled by the student outside of classroom hours and must be successfully completed before testing can occur.

TUITION & ASSOCIATED COSTS – tuition and lab fee will be $300. Fees may be paid with cash, money order, or checks made payable to “Mountain State Educational Service Agency.”  Other costs associated with this course include a $75 fee to WVDHHR/WVOEMS to cover certification/testing fee and $45 to cover state and national background check. National Registry of EMT’s testing fee is $80 (payable to NREMT).  The textbook can be purchased from the instructor or on your own; AAOS Emergency Care & Transportation of the Sick and Injured, 11th ed. is currently $110 (ISBN is 9781284080179).  Be advised that all fees and costs are subject to change.
