Interior Drone Operations
Location: WV State Police Academy, 135 Academy Drive, Dunbar, WV 25064

Course Dates: August 10, 2026 – 8:00am to 5:00 pm
Course Description: Interior Drone Operations: This one-day training teaches law enforcement officers how to safely and effectively fly small drones inside buildings to search for hidden suspects. The class provides extensive hands-on indoor flight operations, giving officers practical skills for clearing structures quickly and reducing risk to personnel.
This class is also beneficial to other first responders, teaching them how to locate persons inside structures that may not be safe for personnel to physically search.
Class size is limited to a maximum of 15 students.
You must be a FAA certificated Part 107 Remote Pilot
Students are required to bring their own drone.
Students will need to register through www.wvpst.org for this class. Go to Charleston website calendar, find class needed and click on class to register.
