Pipeline Emergencies

WVPST is pleased to announce 6 offerings of a 4 hour course on Pipeline Emergencies sponsored by WV Emergency Management Division. There will be 3 opportunities in August at the Regulatory Training Center and 3 opportunities in September at Dunbar Fire Dept. Each offering is from 10am-2pm with lunch provided.

Course Description: This four-hour training is designed to comply with NFPA 470: Standard for Competence of Responders to Hazardous Materials Incidents, specifically focusing on response considerations during pipeline emergencies. The course includes several case studies and a tabletop scenario.

Topics include:
• Understanding how to obtain information on the National Pipeline Mapping System (NPMS).
• Understanding and Identifying what products move through your response jurisdiction
• Discuss first responder priorities
• Completing a pipeline scene size-up
• Working with pipeline operators, staff and contractors
