DESCRIPTION:WEBINAR EVENT: Becoming more than just a number: Steps to new E
 MS provider professional growth.\n\nDescription: Newly certified EMTs can 
 often face a variety of challenges when “breaking into” a new paid or 
 volunteer position.  The transition from student to provider is at best c
 hallenging\, and at times overwhelming.  Facing the reality of some aspec
 ts of EMS can be underwhelming.  Findings one’s place within an organiz
 ation\, and within a system of patient care\, can at times feel daunting.
   Figuring out how to build upon the excitement and growth that occurred 
 within the initial certification class can be confusing and frustrating. 
  These things make it easy to simply fall into a rut.  Failing to address
  these things often leads to an early departure from the EMS community.  
 The good news is that none of these things have to be permanent.  This 1 
 1/2 hour webinar is designed to provide guidance and encouragement to the 
 newly minted EMT (three years or less certification) as they navigate thes
 e very waters.  More seasoned providers that often mentor new EMTs may al
 so find benefit in the tips presented in this course.  Through discussion
  of four key steps\, webinar participants will learn how to be better prep
 ared for making that transition to becoming more than just a number on a c
 ertification card.  After discussing these steps\, we will conclude with 
 sharing 8 patient assessment tips from the field to provoke thought\, and 
 hopefully springboard the newer provider into lifelong learning.\n\nDate:
