DESCRIPTION:West Virginia Public Service Training  will be hosting a PHTLS
  Course. The course will be held at the Burlington VFD.\n\nDATES: October 
 10\, 11\, 2026\n\nTimes: 8am-4pm\n\nNAEMT's Prehospital Trauma Life Suppor
 t (PHTLS) is recognized around the world as the leading continuing educati
 on program for prehospital emergency trauma care. The mission of PHTLS is
  to promote excellence in trauma patient management by all providers in
 volved in the delivery of prehospital care. PHTLS is developed by NAEMT 
 in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons' Committee on Trauma.
  The Committee provides the medical direction and content oversight for th
 e PHTLS program.\n\nPHTLS courses improve the quality of trauma care and d
 ecrease mortality. The program is based on a philosophy stressing the trea
 tment of the multi-system trauma patient as a unique entity with specific 
 needs. PHTLS promotes critical thinking as the foundation for providing qu
 ality care. It is based on the belief that\, given a good fund of knowledg
 e and key principles\, EMS practitioners are capable of making reasoned d
