SUMMARY:PER-294:  Testing an Emergency Operations Plan in a Rural EOC
DESCRIPTION:PER 294 is a DHS/FEMA-certified\, 8-hour\, tuition-free\, perfo
 rmancelevel course designed with a proactive approach to testing the Emerg
 ency Operations Plans (EOPs) of rural communities in an Emergency Operatio
 ns Center (EOC) environment. EOPs are allhazard plans developed for use by
  state and local jurisdictions to ensure a coordinated and effective respo
 nse to natural\, technological\, or man-made disasters that may occur with
 in an area. It serves as the “game plan” for those who will be tasked 
 with responding to an incident. Testing these plans on a routine basis is 
 critical to their effectiveness. \n\nTopics covered will help participants
  to: \n•Articulate the value of exercising an EOP. \n•Describe the Hom
 eland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP). •Prepare an EOC 
 for testing. \n•Given a particular scenario\, select an exercise type th
 at best meets a jurisdiction’s requirements. \n•Develop an exercise al
 igned with the HSEEP standards. \n•Simulate role of an assigned EOC posi
