SUMMARY:NAEMT EVOS Class
DESCRIPTION:NAEMT's EMS Vehicle Operator Safety (EVOS) course addresses the
  knowledge gap that leads to injuries and deaths\, and focuses on the spec
 ific behaviors that need to be changed to create a culture of safe driving
 .\n\nDrawing on the most current research about the behaviors and other ha
 zards that lead to crashes\, EVOS features case studies and analyses of bo
 th common and catastrophic collisions. EVOS challenges EMS practitioners t
 o reconsider their preconceptions about safe vehicle operations. Instructo
 rs can easily incorporate local laws\, rules and policies into the curricu
 lum. Topics covered in the course include:\n\n 	Making driving safety a pr
 iority\n 	Legal aspects of EMS vehicle operation\n 	Maneuvering an EMS veh
 icle\n 	Vehicle inspection and maintenance\n 	Mental\, emotional and physi
 cal preparedness\n 	Emergency response\n 	Crash prevention\n 	Driving skil
 ls\n 	Technological aids\n 	Simulation training\n\nEVOS is appropriate for
  EMS practitioners at all levels.  EVOS is accredited by CAPCE and recogn
 ized by NREMT.\n\nThis course is approved by the WV Office of EMS\n\nMust 
 be 18 years old to take this course.\n\nNick Wade is the instructor of the
  course.\n\nCost of the course is $30\n\nThis is a 16 hour course.  Class
  Dates are December 8 5 pm to 10 pm and December 9 8 am to 7 pm
