SUMMARY:Incident Safety Officer
DESCRIPTION:WVPST is pleased to announce a 16-hour Incident Safety Officer 
 class to be held at Valley VFD (28409 Huntington Rd.\, Apple Grove\, WV 25
 502) from 0900-1700 daily.\n\nDescription:  The Safety Officer’s respon
 sibilities fall into two clear cut categories: those associated with respo
 nding at the incident scene\, and those associated with managing the day-t
 o-day affairs of the department. The Incident Safety Officer (ISO) course 
 is focused on the incident and the role the Safety Officer plays as part o
 f the Command Staff. The target audience is Company Officers who are exper
 ienced in firefighter safety issues and are familiar with an Incident Comm
 and System\, hazardous materials management\, and related emergency operat
 ions. The program provides the student with the decision -making process a
 nd skills required to recognize unsafe acts and conditions and take approp
 riate corrective actions.\n\nCost: $35/student\n\nDates: May 21-22\, 2022\
