DESCRIPTION:In this “TRUE LIFE STORY\,” Bill Adams\, Assistant Chief of
  the Metal Township Volunteer Fire Department in Franklin County\, was res
 ponding to a fire in the rain when the fire engine he was driving suddenly
  hydroplaned. The truck slid off the road and down an embankment. Bill wil
 l bring his inspiring story of how he fought to survive against all odds a
 nd why this life- changing event made him more determined than ever to con
 tinue serving as an instructor and firefighter. The course reviews some ba
 sic philosophies of safe vehicle response and operation\, and introduces t
 he concept of space and speed management in the operation of any vehicle.\
 n\nOn September 9\, 2018\, while responding to a working dwelling fire\, B
 ill was critically injured in a roll-over apparatus accident. His life and
  his family’s life drastically changed in many ways. The brotherhood of 
 the fire service and the community have rallied to help support his family
  and his department. This is his story...\n\nInstructor - Bill Adams\n\nI 
 Survived Course Flyer\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nBio:\nBill Adams has been involved wit
 h the volunteer fire service since 1976. He has held many positions includ
 ing firefighter\, engineer\, lieutenant\, captain\, and for the past 11 ye
 ars has served as the Assistant Fire Chief with the Metal Township Fire an
 d Ambulance Company in Franklin County. Bill has been a Pennsylvania Fire 
 Service Instructor since 2010 and an adjunct instructor for the Pennsylvan
 ia State Fire Academy. Bill’s passion is working with firefighters to be
 tter educate them on vehicle operations. He donates a great deal of his ti
 me to help fire personnel and volunteers in the fire service get their CDL
  drivers licenses throughout the tri-state area. Bill spent 36 years as a 
 professional over-the-road truck driver\, hauling everything from general 
 freight to heavy equipment and fuel\, running coast to coast in the United
  States and Canada. Bill has logged more than 6 million miles\, earning nu
 merous safety awards\, including the prestigious 5-million-mile safety awa
 rd given after 5 million miles without a preventable accident. Bill has be
 en a driver trainer in the trucking industry for most of his driving caree
 r. One honor that Bill is very proud of is his time serving on the Pennsyl
 vania State and America’s Road Teams\, where he worked with media as wel
 l as state and national governments to promote safety in the transportatio
 n industry. In his spare time\, Bill maintains a small farm in rural Frank
 lin County\, Pennsylvania where he and his wife of 35 years\, Georgia\, an
 d their dog Aria raise beef cattle and till 90 acres of crop land.\n\n&nbs
