SUMMARY:Hypothermia Management from the Backcountry to the Streets
DESCRIPTION:This 4 hour course will be offered December 5\, 2023 starting a
 t 5:30pm at the White Hall Public Safety Building\, White Hall (Marion Cou
 nty).  The course will utilize a combination of classroom and practical e
 xercises to provide in-depth education to EMS responders on how to best re
 cognize\, treat\, and manage hypothermic patients. Special\nemphasis will 
 be given to qualitative techniques that can be utilized to recognize and a
 ssess the hypothermic\npatient. Advanced monitoring will also be addressed
  including vital signs\, cardiac monitoring\, and end-tidal\ncapnography. 
 Responders will learn based on best practice the most effective ways to pa
 ckage and transport\nhypothermic patients using common EMS techniques as w
 ell as field expedient resources. Various treatment\nmodalities will be ad
 dressed including external and inline fluid warming as well as troubleshoo
 ting. General\npractices and principles will guide hands on training as op
 posed to specific manufactured products.\n\nTyler Anderson\, Ben Tacy\, an
 d Tim Curry are the course instructors.\n\nThere is no cost to attend this
