ISBN is 9781284080179) will be available for purchase at the first class session for $110 (must be paid i n order to take a book) or you can purchase/borrow one on your own. If you borrow/purchase your own\, make sure to get the most current edition.\n\n  \;\n\nThe course also requires a clinical component to be completed o utside of class hours during which you will ride along with an EMS agency to complete 10 patient assessments. These assessments must be completed pr ior to being approved to take the NREMT exam once the course is completed . You will receive more information on the clinical component during the c lass.\n\n \;\n\nUpon successful completion of the course\, you will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of EMTs exam\, with the initial exam attempt\, as mentioned above\, being included within the course tuit ion.  This test will be scheduled at your convenience at a Pearson Vue te sting center.  If seeking certification in a state other than WV\, you wi ll not need to complete the WV certification process/fees\, and will simpl y need to pass practical testing and NREMT examination before proceeding w ith the certification process in your desired state.\n\n \;\n\nIf seek ing certification in West Virginia at the conclusion of the course\, the W est Virginia Office of EMS requires a $75 fee for certification which is p aid online\, and a $45 fee for fingerprinting/criminal background check. Y ou will receive directions on that process during the class.\n\n \;\n\ nPre- registration for this class is required. Class is limited to 30 stud ents.  Absence allowance is 10% of the total class hours = 15 hours.
