SUMMARY:EMT Initial - United Technical Center
DESCRIPTION:This approximately 155-hour course is being conducted at United
  Technical Center in Clarksburg\, WV (Harrison County) beginning Thursday\
 , August 25\, 2022 at 6:00pm.  Class will meet on the following dates: Au
 gust 25 (orientation session)\; September 1\, 5\, 16\, 18\, 22\, 24\, 26\;
  October 1\, 6\, 9\, 13\, 17\, 20\, 23\, 27\, and 29.  The course instruc
 tors are Nick Wade and Jimmy Glasscock.  Students MUST bring a laptop or 
 tablet to the orientation session on August 25.  Students must have acces
 s to a computer outside of the classroom\, reliable internet\, and be self
  motivated to complete assignments and spend time studying outside of form
 al class hours.\n\nThe EMS WV: Answer the Call Initiative is providing gra
 nt funding to cover course tuition and fees for students.    \n\nThe co
 urse requires a clinical component to be completed outside of class hours 
 during which you will ride along with an EMS agency to complete 10 patient
  assessments. These assessments must be completed in order to obtain WV ce
 rtification as an EMT.  You will receive more information on the clinical
  component during the class.\n\nUpon successful completion of the course\,
  you will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of EMTs exam\, with
  the initial exam attempt\, as mentioned above\, being included within the
  course tuition.  This test will be scheduled at your convenience at a Pe
 arson Vue testing center.  If seeking certification in a state other than
  WV\, you will not need to complete the WV certification process/fees\, an
 d will simply need to pass practical testing and NREMT examination before 
 proceeding with the certification process in your desired state.\n\nPre- r
 egistration for this class is required. with class size being limited to 2
 0 students.  Absence allowance is 10% of the total class hours = 15 hours
 . Make up of missed classes will be at the discretion of the course instru
