SUMMARY:EMT Initial - United Technical Center (Registration Extended)
DESCRIPTION:Class did not start on time due to too few students.  Registra
 tion has been extended to attempt to start the class March 7\, 2023.\n\nTh
 is approximately 155-hour course is being conducted at United Technical Ce
 nter in Clarksburg\, WV (Harrison County) beginning Monday\, February 27\,
  2023 at 6:00pm.  Class will meet on the following dates: March 7\, 8\, 9
 \, 14\, 16\, 21\, 23\, 28\, 30\; April 4\, 5\, 6\, 10\, 13\, 17\, 19\, 24\
 , 26\; May 1\, 2\, 3\, 9\, 10\, 11\, 16\, 18\, 23\, 25\, 30\; June 1\, 5\,
  6\, 12\, 14\, 19\, 21\, 26\, 28\, and 30\, 2023.  Three additional class
  dates will be added by the instructor in cooperation with the students si
 nce class did not start on the originally scheduled night.  The course in
 structor is Josh Tompkins.  Students MUST bring a laptop or tablet to the
  first class session.  Students must have access to a computer outside of
  the classroom\, reliable internet\, and be self motivated to complete ass
 ignments and spend time studying outside of formal class hours.\n\nCourse 
 cost is $650 which includes tuition\, textbook\, EMS testing access\, AHA 
 BLS CPR\, pocket mask\, and upon successful completion of all course requi
 rements a voucher for NREMT testing 1st attempt.  Fees for certification 
 and background check as required by WVOEMS are not included within this am
 ount.\n\nPayment is due at the first class meeting\, or a completed author
 ization to invoice form (can be obtained by emailing WVPST Clarksburg offi
 ce) must be presented at that time if an agency/department is paying and n
 eeds invoiced.\n\nThe course requires a clinical component to be completed
  outside of class hours during which you will ride along with an EMS agenc
 y to complete 10 patient assessments. These assessments must be completed 
 in order to obtain WV certification as an EMT.  You will receive more inf
 ormation on the clinical component during the class.\n\nUpon successful co
 mpletion of the course\, you will be eligible to sit for the National Regi
 stry of EMTs exam\, with the initial exam attempt\, as mentioned above\, b
 eing included within the course tuition.  This test will be scheduled at 
 your convenience at a Pearson Vue testing center.  If seeking certificati
 on in a state other than WV\, you will not need to complete the WV certifi
 cation process/fees\, and will simply need to pass practical testing and N
 REMT examination before proceeding with the certification process in your 
 desired state.\n\nPre- registration for this class is required. with class
  size being limited to 20 students.  Absence allowance is 10% of the tota
 l class hours = 15 hours. Make up of missed classes will be at the discret
