SUMMARY:EMT Initial - Lewis County EMS
DESCRIPTION:This 155-hour course is being conducted at Lewis County EMS in 
 Weston\, WV (Lewis County) beginning Tuesday\, September 1\, 2020 at 6:00p
 m.  Class dates are as follows: September 1\, 3\, 8\, 10\, 15\, 17\, 19\,
  22\, 24\, 26\, 29\; October 1\, 6\, 7\, 13\, 15\, 17\, 20\, 22\, 27\, 29\
 ; and November 4\, 5\, 10\, 11\, 17\, 19\, 24\; December 1\, 3\, 8\, 9\, 1
 2\, 15.  Weeknight classes will be 6pm - 10pm\, and Saturday clases will 
 be 8am - 5pm.  The course instructor is TJ Sirbaugh.\n\nThe tuition fee\,
  first NREMT testing fee and book will be covered for this class.  There 
 is no cost to the student (WV Residents only) for tuition\,  first NREMT 
 testing or book.  Student will be responsible for WV State Certification 
 fees.\n\nThe course also requires a clinical component to be completed out
 side of class hours during which you will ride along with an EMS agency to
  complete 10 patient assessments. These assessments must be completed in o
 rder to obtain WV certification as an EMT.  You will receive more informa
 tion on the clinical component during the class.\n\nUpon successful comple
 tion of the course\, you will be eligible to sit for the National Registry
  of EMTs exam\, with the initial exam attempt\, as mentioned above\, being
  included within the course tuition.  This test will be scheduled at your
  convenience at a Pearson Vue testing center.  If seeking certification i
 n a state other than WV\, you will not need to complete the WV certificati
 on process/fees\, and will simply need to pass practical testing and NREMT
  examination before proceeding with the certification process in your desi
 red state.\n\nIf seeking certification in West Virginia at the conclusion 
 of the course\, the West Virginia Office of EMS requires a $75 fee for cer
 tification which is paid online\, and a $45 fee for fingerprinting/crimina
 l background check. You will receive directions on that process during the
  class.\n\nPre- registration for this class is required. Due to COVID 19 s
 afety best practices\, face masks will be required for all classes\, and c
 lass size is limited to 12 students.  Absence allowance is 10% of the tot
 al class hours = 15 hours. Make up of missed classes will be at the discre
 tion of the course instructor.\n\nInterested persons should register below
