SUMMARY:EMT Initial - Lewis County EMS
DESCRIPTION:This approximately 155-hour course is being conducted at Lewis 
 County EMS in Weston\, WV (Lewis County) beginning Thursday\, September 1\
 , 2022 at 6:00pm.  Class will meet on the following dates: September 1\, 
 6\, 8\, 13\, 15\, 20\, 22\, 26\, 29\; October 4\, 6\, 11\, 13\, 18\, 20\, 
 24\, 27\; November 1\, 3\, 8\, 12\, 15\, 17\, 29\; December 1\, 6\, 8\, 13
 \, 15\, 19\, 22\; January 3\, 5\, 10\, 12\, 16\, and 19.  Class times wil
 l be 6pm-10pm on weeknights and any weekend dates the instructor will work
  out with students in advance.  The course instructor is Chris Battlo.  
 Students must have access to a computer\, reliable internet\, and be self 
 motivated to complete assignments and spend time studying outside of forma
 l class hours.\n\nLewis County EMS has secured grant funding through the E
 MS WV: Answer the Call Initiative to cover course tuition and fees for stu
 dents.    \n\nThe course requires a clinical component to be completed 
 outside of class hours during which you will ride along with an EMS agency
  to complete 10 patient assessments. These assessments must be completed i
 n order to obtain WV certification as an EMT.  You will receive more info
 rmation on the clinical component during the class.\n\nUpon successful com
 pletion of the course\, you will be eligible to sit for the National Regis
 try of EMTs exam\, with the initial exam attempt\, as mentioned above\, be
 ing included within the course tuition.  This test will be scheduled at y
 our convenience at a Pearson Vue testing center.  If seeking certificatio
 n in a state other than WV\, you will not need to complete the WV certific
 ation process/fees\, and will simply need to pass practical testing and NR
 EMT examination before proceeding with the certification process in your d
 esired state.\n\nPre- registration for this class is required. with class 
 size being limited to 20 students.  Absence allowance is 10% of the total
  class hours = 15 hours. Make up of missed classes will be at the discreti
