SUMMARY:EMT Initial - Lewis County EMS
DESCRIPTION:This approximately 155-hour course is being conducted at Lewis 
 County EMS in Weston\, WV (Lewis County) beginning Monday\, January 24\, 2
 022 at 6:00pm.  Class will meet on the following dates: January 24\, 26\,
  31\; February 2\, 5\, 7\, 9\, 14\, 16\, 19\, 23\, 28\; March 2\, 5\, 7\, 
 9\, 14\, 16\, 19\, 23\, 28\, 30\; April 2\, 4\, 6\, 11\, 13\, 16\, 20\, 25
 \, 27\, 30\; and May 2\, 4\, 7.  Class times will be 6pm-10pm on weeknigh
 ts and 9am - 5pm on weekend dates.  The course instructor is Joe Spray. 
  Students must have access to a computer\, reliable internet\, and be self
  motivated to complete assignments and spend time studying outside of form
 al class hours.\n\nThe student will be responsible for payment of class tu
 ition and fees of $575 by the 4th class session or must bring proof of aut
 horization to invoice a department (form for this will be available at fir
 st session).  Tuition and fees covers the textbook\, Navigate learning ma
 nagement system access\, pocket mask\, CPR certification\, test voucher fo
 r 1st attempt at NREMT exam\, and access to the EMS Testing online program
 .  Student will also be responsible for WV State Certification fees which
  are separate from\, and outside of the control of\, WVPST course costs. 
  \n\nThe course also requires a clinical component to be completed outsid
 e of class hours during which you will ride along with an EMS agency to co
 mplete 10 patient assessments. These assessments must be completed in orde
 r to obtain WV certification as an EMT.  You will receive more informatio
 n on the clinical component during the class.\n\nUpon successful completio
 n of the course\, you will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of
  EMTs exam\, with the initial exam attempt\, as mentioned above\, being in
 cluded within the course tuition.  This test will be scheduled at your co
 nvenience at a Pearson Vue testing center.  If seeking certification in a
  state other than WV\, you will not need to complete the WV certification 
 process/fees\, and will simply need to pass practical testing and NREMT ex
 amination before proceeding with the certification process in your desired
  state.\n\nIf seeking certification in West Virginia at the conclusion of 
 the course\, the West Virginia Office of EMS requires a $75 fee for certif
 ication which is paid online\, and a $45 fee for fingerprinting/criminal b
 ackground check. You will receive directions on that process during the cl
 ass.\n\nPre- registration for this class is required. with class size bein
 g limited to 15 students.  Absence allowance is 10% of the total class ho
 urs = 15 hours. Make up of missed classes will be at the discretion of the
  course instructor.\n\nInterested persons should register below by filling
  in the appropriate information.  Those students preregistered will recei
 ve an email prior to the first class meeting.\n\nIf no seats show as avail
