SUMMARY:EMT Initial - Grant Town\, WV
DESCRIPTION:This approximately 155-hour course is being conducted at the Gr
 ant Town EMS in Grant Town\, WV (Marion County).  The course will begin o
 n Tuesday\, September 23\, 2025 at 6:00pm.  Class will meet on the follow
 ing dates: September 23\, 24\, 30\; October 8\, 9\, 11\, 13\, 14\, 15\, 21
 \, 23\, 24\, 25\, 26\, 27\, 29\, 30\; November 1\, 3\, 4\, 5\, 13\, 14\, 1
 5\, 16\, 19\, 20\, 22\; December 4 &amp\; 5\, 2025.  Practical skills tes
 ting date TBD.  Class times will be 6:00pm - 10:00pm on weeknights and 9a
 m - 5pm on weekend dates\, unless directed otherwise by the course instruc
 tor.  The lead instructor for the course is Gauge Miller.  Students MUST
  bring a laptop or tablet to the first class session on September 23\, 202
 5.  Students must have access to a computer outside of the classroom\, re
 liable internet\, and be self motivated to complete assignments and spend 
 time studying outside of formal class hours.\n\n The course requires a cl
 inical component to be completed outside of class hours during which you w
 ill ride along with an EMS agency to complete 10 patient assessments. Thes
 e assessments must be completed in order to obtain WV certification as an 
 EMT.  You will receive more information on the clinical component during 
 the class.\n\nUpon successful completion of course requirements\, students
  will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of EMTs exam\, with the
  initial exam attempt being included within the course tuition.  This tes
 t will be scheduled at your convenience at a Pearson Vue testing center. 
  If seeking certification in a state other than WV\, you will not need to 
 complete the WV certification process/fees\, and will simply need to pass 
 practical testing and NREMT examination before proceeding with the certifi
 cation process in your desired state.\n\nAbsence allowance is 10% of the t
 otal class hours = 15 hours. Make up of missed classes will be at the disc
 retion of the course instructor.\n\nCourse fee is $650 and includes: tuiti
 on\, textbook\, access to EMS testing program\, and 1st attempt NREMT exam
  voucher (upon successful completion of course requirements).  State of W
 V licensing fees are separate and are the responsibility of the student if
  seeking WV certification.  Course fees\, or an authorization to invoice 
 agency form (can be obtained from the WVPST Clarksburg office)\, are due b
 y the first class session.\n\nPre- registration for this class is required
