SUMMARY:EMT Initial - Grant Town\, WV
DESCRIPTION:This approximately 155-hour course is being conducted at the Gr
 ant Town EMS/Grant Town Community Building in Grant Town\, WV (Marion Coun
 ty).  The course will begin on Wednesday\, September 30\, 2026 at 6:00pm.
   Class will meet on the following dates: September 30\; October 7\, 8\, 
 14\, 15\, 17\, 21\, 22\, 24\, 28\, 29\; November 4\, 5\, 18\, 19\, 21\; De
 cember 2\, 3\, 9\, 17\, 19\, 21\, 2026\; January 6\, 7\, 13\, 14\, 16\, 20
 \, 21\, 27\, 28\; February 3\, 4\, 10\, 11\, 17\, and 18\, 2027.  Practic
 al skills testing date TBD.  Class times will be 6:00pm - 10:00pm on week
 nights and 9am - 5pm on weekend dates\, unless directed otherwise by the c
 ourse instructor.  The lead instructor for the course is Gauge Miller.  
 Students MUST bring a laptop or tablet to the first class session on Septe
 mber 23\, 2025.  Students must have access to a computer outside of the c
 lassroom\, reliable internet\, and be self motivated to complete assignmen
 ts and spend time studying outside of formal class hours.\n\n The course 
 requires a clinical component to be completed outside of class hours durin
 g which you will ride along with an EMS agency to complete 10 patient asse
 ssments. These assessments must be completed in order to obtain WV certifi
 cation as an EMT.  You will receive more information on the clinical comp
 onent during the class.\n\nUpon successful completion of course requiremen
 ts\, students will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of EMTs ex
 am\, with the initial exam attempt being included within the course tuitio
 n.  This test will be scheduled at your convenience at a Pearson Vue test
 ing center.  If seeking certification in a state other than WV\, you will
  not need to complete the WV certification process/fees\, and will simply 
 need to pass practical testing and NREMT examination before proceeding wit
 h the certification process in your desired state.\n\nAbsence allowance is
  10% of the total class hours = 15 hours. Make up of missed classes will b
 e at the discretion of the course instructor.\n\nCourse fee is $650 and in
 cludes: tuition\, textbook\, access to EMS testing program\, and 1st attem
 pt NREMT exam voucher (upon successful completion of course requirements).
   State of WV licensing fees are separate and are the responsibility of t
 he student if seeking WV certification.  Course fees\, or an authorizatio
 n to invoice agency form (can be obtained from the WVPST Clarksburg office
 )\, are due by the first class session.\n\nPre- registration for this clas
 s is required.\n\nTo register please print and fill out the course applica
 tion below\, and submit with a $50 application fee (will be counted toward
 s total course fees) to the WVPST Clarksburg office.  This can be paid vi
