SUMMARY:EMT Initial - Elkins\, WV
DESCRIPTION:This approximately 155-hour course is being conducted at Randol
 ph County EMS in Elkins\, WV (Randolph County).  The course will begin wi
 th an orientation session on Tuesday\, September 30\, 2025 at 6:00pm.  Cl
 ass will meet on the following dates: September 30\; October 7\, 9\, 13\, 
 15\, 21\, 23\, 25\, 27\, 29\; November 4\, 6\, 8\, 10\, 12\, 18\, 20\, 22\
 ; December 2\, 4\, 8\, 10\, 16\, 18\, 20\, 22\, 30\; January 3\, 5\, 7\, 1
 3\, 15\, &amp\; 17\, 2025.  Practical skills testing date TBD.  Class ti
 mes will be 6:00pm - 10:00pm on weeknights and 9am - 5pm on weekend dates\
 , unless directed otherwise by the course instructor.  The lead instructo
 r for the course is Keith Brown.  Students MUST bring a laptop or tablet 
 to the first class session on September 30\, 2025.  Students must have ac
 cess to a computer outside of the classroom\, reliable internet\, and be s
 elf motivated to complete assignments and spend time studying outside of f
 ormal class hours.\n\n The course requires a clinical component to be com
 pleted outside of class hours during which you will ride along with an EMS
  agency to complete 10 patient assessments. These assessments must be comp
 leted in order to obtain WV certification as an EMT.  You will receive mo
 re information on the clinical component during the class.\n\nUpon success
 ful completion of course requirements\, students will be eligible to sit f
 or the National Registry of EMTs exam\, with the initial exam attempt bein
 g included within the course tuition.  This test will be scheduled at you
 r convenience at a Pearson Vue testing center.  If seeking certification 
 in a state other than WV\, you will not need to complete the WV certificat
 ion process/fees\, and will simply need to pass practical testing and NREM
 T examination before proceeding with the certification process in your des
 ired state.\n\nAbsence allowance is 10% of the total class hours = 15 hour
 s. Make up of missed classes will be at the discretion of the course instr
 uctor.\n\nCourse fee is $650 and includes: tuition\, textbook\, access to 
 EMS testing program\, and 1st attempt NREMT exam voucher (upon successful 
 completion of course requirements).  State of WV licensing fees are separ
 ate and are the responsibility of the student if seeking WV certification.
   Course fees\, or an authorization to invoice agency form (can be obtain
 ed from the WVPST Clarksburg office)\, are due by the first class session.

 ication fee (will be counted towards total course fees) to the WVPST Clark
