SUMMARY:EMT Initial Class
DESCRIPTION:Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)\n\nThis 155 hour minimum pro
 gram is the basic level of EMT care by the West Virginia Office of Emergen
 cy Medical Services. This class meets the National Standards Curriculum. 
  The EMT candidate must successfully complete the program\, complete requi
 red clinical time\, complete the practical skills testing\, and obtain a 
 passing score on the WVOEMS state option test or the computer-based Natio
 nal Registry exam. Certification will be good for 4 years.\n\nThis will b
 e a hybrid learning class where the lectures and classroom portions will b
 e online. This will allow students to attend class when it is convenient f
 or them. Skill sessions will be every other Saturday beginning January 12\
 , 2019 at 9:00 AM at the Public Service Training classroom located at 501 
 22nd Street.  Students are also required to complete ten (10) patient ass
 essments while doing clinical time on an EMS unit.\n\nDates:
