DESCRIPTION:This approximately 155-hour course is being conducted in Clarks
 burg\, WV (Harrison County) beginning Tuesday\, February 16\, 2021 at 6:00
 pm.  Class dates are February 16\, 18\, 23\, 25\; March 1\, 2\,4\, 6\, 8\
 , 9\, 10\, 11\, 13\, 15\, 17\, 18\, 19\, 22\, 24\; April 5\, 6\, 7\, 9\, 1
 3\, 14\, 15\, 16\, 20\, 22\, 27\, 29\; May 6\, 8\, 10\, 11\, &amp\; 12.  
 Weekday classes will meet 6-10pm and weekend classes will meet 8am-4pm.  
 The course instructor is Josh Tompkins.  Students must have access to a c
 omputer\, reliable internet\, and be self motivated to complete assignment
 s\, as the current COVID 19 pandemic could result in portions of the cours
 e being done in an online format.\n\nThe tuition fee\, first NREMT testing
  fee and book will be covered for this class through a grant through the W
 V Jobs and Hope program.  There is no cost to the student (WV Residents o
 nly) for tuition\,  first NREMT testing fee\, or book.  Student will be 
 responsible for WV State Certification fees.\n\nThe course also requires a
  clinical component to be completed outside of class hours during which yo
 u will ride along with an EMS agency to complete 10 patient assessments. T
 hese assessments must be completed in order to obtain WV certification as 
 an EMT.  You will receive more information on the clinical component duri
 ng the class.\n\nUpon successful completion of the course\, you will be el
 igible to sit for the National Registry of EMTs exam\, with the initial ex
 am attempt\, as mentioned above\, being included within the course tuition
 .  This test will be scheduled at your convenience at a Pearson Vue testi
 ng center.  If seeking certification in a state other than WV\, you will 
 not need to complete the WV certification process/fees\, and will simply n
 eed to pass practical testing and NREMT examination before proceeding with
  the certification process in your desired state.\n\nIf seeking certificat
 ion in West Virginia at the conclusion of the course\, the West Virginia O
 ffice of EMS requires a $75 fee for certification which is paid online\, a
 nd a $45 fee for fingerprinting/criminal background check. You will receiv
 e directions on that process during the class.\n\nPre- registration for th
 is class is required. Due to COVID 19 safety best practices\, face masks w
 ill be required for all classes\, and class size is limited to 15 students
 .  Absence allowance is 10% of the total class hours = 15 hours. Make up 
 of missed classes will be at the discretion of the course instructor.\n\nI

 rmation.  Those students preregistered will receive an email with exact c
 ourse location prior to the first class meeting.\n\nIf no seats show as av
