SUMMARY:EMT Initial - Clarksburg
DESCRIPTION:This approximately 155-hour course is being conducted at United
  Technical Center in Clarksburg\, WV (Harrison County) beginning Monday\, 
 September 13\, 2021 at 5:00pm.  Class dates are September 13\, 16\, 20\, 
 23\, 28\, 29\; October 2\, 4\, 10\, 13\, 16\, 19\, 23\, 25\, 31\; November
  3\, 6\, 7\, 9\, 10\, 13\, 15\, and 16\, 2021.  Weekday classes will meet
  5-10pm and weekend classes will meet 8am-6pm.  The course instructor is 
 Jimmy Glasscock.  Students must have access to a computer\, reliable inte
 rnet\, and be self motivated to complete assignments and spend time studyi
 ng outside of formal class hours.\n\nThe textbook\, first NREMT testing fe
 e and FISDAP entrance and exit exam fees will all be covered for this clas
 s through a grant through the WV Jobs and Hope program (WV Residents only)
 .  The student will be responsible for class tuition fee of $300 (due by 
 4th class session).  Student will also be responsible for WV State Certif
 ication fees which are separate from WVPST course costs.\n\nThe course als
 o requires a clinical component to be completed outside of class hours dur
 ing which you will ride along with an EMS agency to complete 10 patient as
 sessments. These assessments must be completed in order to obtain WV certi
 fication as an EMT.  You will receive more information on the clinical co
 mponent during the class.\n\nUpon successful completion of the course\, yo
 u will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of EMTs exam\, with th
 e initial exam attempt\, as mentioned above\, being included within the co
 urse tuition.  This test will be scheduled at your convenience at a Pears
 on Vue testing center.  If seeking certification in a state other than WV
 \, you will not need to complete the WV certification process/fees\, and w
 ill simply need to pass practical testing and NREMT examination before pro
 ceeding with the certification process in your desired state.\n\nIf seekin
 g certification in West Virginia at the conclusion of the course\, the Wes
 t Virginia Office of EMS requires a $75 fee for certification which is pai
 d online\, and a $45 fee for fingerprinting/criminal background check. You
  will receive directions on that process during the class.\n\nPre- registr
 ation for this class is required. with class size being limited to 15 stud
 ents.  Absence allowance is 10% of the total class hours = 15 hours. Make
  up of missed classes will be at the discretion of the course instructor.\
